There are some things that I feel I can do to change my world, and some things that I feel powerless to change:
1) I cannot change the news. I'm neither a journalist nor a newsmaker, so the abyss of dark thoughts that inhabit me because of the news of our government being inhabited by communists is inescapable, in my world. But I can change the channel, read positive articles about Sarah Palin (who I am an ardent fan of), and communicate with others who share my beliefs -- via Team Sarah, Townhall and other blogs.
2) I cannot influence many, to believe as I believe -- but I can join with others in my area, to attend Tea Parties (which I did -- one on 4/15/09 in Madison and one on 9/19/09 in Milwaukee). I can make my voice heard and also reach out to others in the area, who are tired of big government Obomunism.
3) I cannot, by my own strength, fight against the forces of evil that inhabit the Leftist government. I don't believe that the word "evil" is too strong. Any president that, as a state senator, voted multiple times to let a baby die in a linen closet after a 'botched' abortion -- is an evil Leftist. What I can do is pray. I believe that "with God, nothing is impossible".
Let me explore that last point further: Even though the McCain/Palin ticket lost the election, look what happened afterwards. Disgusted Conservatives and Independents as well as more thoughtful, non-brainwashed Democrats came together, beginning in February of 2009, and continuing through September 2009. These patriotic Americans became disgusted with the Washington entrenched politicians, crooks and cronies of the Obama Administration, and the absolute UNCONSTITUTIONAL bills and laws that were being shoved down our throats. The 'silent majority' has made their voice heard. Would it have happened if the McCain/Palin ticket had won? Doubtful. This positive development from the disappointing election result was, I believe, the hand of God.
Even after the election, the Sarah haters were out in force -- to destroy her financially so she could NEVER come back and rise up to challenge the corruption in Washington. What did she do? She did an end-round (football term), resigned from office, posted some very strong letters on Facebook, wrote a book to be released November 17th, wrote one article for the Washington Post and then a most recent article for National Review Online, outlining her views on Cap and Tax, Obamacare, and "Drill Baby Drill". She gave a much-heralded speech in Hong Kong on the future of our country and the world. Her book shot to #1 in pre-sales on both Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com --IN TWO DAYS!! This success, despite being attacked by media Leftists and bloggers, is I believe, the hand of God as well. It is prayer -- both individual and in multitudes, that is enabeling our Sarah to fight, despite all the odds against her. It is through prayer that God will deliver us from the evil of this government, and if God wills, Sarah will be the one to lead us.
The woman is, as one Team Sarah supporter noted, our Esther -- the queen in the Old Testament who rose to prominence, in spite of all the forces against her.
So, I encourage all people of faith to pray. Pray for deliverence from the forces of evil that inhabit our government. Pray that all who have been blinded by "hope" and "change" will have the blinders removed from their eyes. Pray that the truth of the evil of this government reveal itself sooner rather than later...because the longer the evil is allowed to remain, the stronger it will be, and the more difficult it will be to remove it from power. Pray daily. I know I will.
