PM John Howard of Australia concedes defeat in election: Say it ain't so, John! This is the one world leader, in my opinion, who has been even more of a staunch ally in the GWOT than even Tony Blair in England. His "Free to leave" speech in 2006 was nothing short of brilliant, and I only wish some of our Republican candidates for President would have the cajones that he did, in delivering that speech.
When it seems that old Europe -- namely, France and Germany -- are going more conservative, other countries are electing labor party leaders -- Australia and England -- who are more socialistic in their ideas. Let's hope that these countries remain steadfast in their support for the fight against Islamic Jihadism, for it is the fight for our very survival and way of life that we are fighting for.
Recently in Iraq, the tide has turned toward free government. Let us all pray for continued success in that part of the world, and a vindication for our President's foreign policy -- which had been under assault since the Iraq invasion of 2003. Afghanistan rarely makes the news, unless things heat up in the fight against the Jihadists. In both places, John Howard has been a staunch ally of the United States and our President, supporting him against the onslaught of Islamic jihadists. Howard had his own battles with terrorism in Bali and East Timor in his part of the world, so has had first hand knowledge of the battle that is ongoing in our lifetime. Let us pray that his successor will fight with the same tenacity and courage that PM Howard has.
Good luck in your new life, John Howard, and may God bless you!
